It is a technically brilliant piece of engineering with the full fire and fury of Colnago behind it. Some history on what is arguably the most famous bike company worldwide... Founded in 1954 by Ernesto Colnago, Colnago begins building bicycles having been a bicycle builder at a Milano factory since 1946. The front triangle is a carbon monocoque featuring a medium/large down tube that is slightly shaped as a vertical oval at the head tube to maximize contact patch and minimize twist. It tapers down to a rounded curve up into the seat tube. The seat tube itself gets some added material towards the top to reinforce the B stay insert and expands with a bit of a fin just as it meets the B stay lug . The third leg of the triangle is the top tube and it’s large at the head tube and smaller at the seat. Lastly the $799 Colnago Star fork (1” 1\8) completes the balanced feel of this bike. All this technology doesn't come cheap and Colnago developed this bike in conjunction with Italian composites specialists "ATR" who is responsible for not only Formula 1 manufacturing but also hold client contracts with Ferrari, Lamborghini, Renault, Maserati, Ducati and Aprilia.
